The Oscars!

Betsy's Best and Worst Dressed list!

BEST!

The incredible Meryl Streep - Very nice and age appropriate I think.

Kate Winslet- Stunning - great fit. I love the fading colors and single shoulder strap.

Queen Latifah - She is the Queen - I love her.

Ladies in white:

Penelope Cruz - This could be a wedding dress, I loved the detail.

Sarah Jessica Parker - Always Lovely.

Taraji P. Henson - Benjamin Button Beauty

Viola Davis - Golden Goddess. - No Doubt.

WORST!

Tilda Swinton - All together odd - Just like last year - What's with no eye makeup?

Miley Cyrus - Sea Shell Strange

Mary Hart - Seriously?

Jennifer Grey- It makes me so sad that she had her nose done, loved her in Dirty Dancing, not so much in this "too tight" dress.

Jessica Biel - Hey Jess, there's something hanging off the front of your dress, or is that just a table clothe you turned into a toga style dress?

Feel free to comment and share your thoughts.

The Crime Scene!

The Crime Scene

Evidence

Sweet Zoe

Tonight, while I was relaxing in a bubble bath, I heard a scratching noise coming from the living room. After I finished soaking and put on my PJs I went to investigate. I found that some of the Valentine Chocolates from the coffee table had been taken and there were some bits and pieces of foil wrappers on the floor. Hmmm? Zoe, do you know who could have done this? She seemed eager to assist me in my investigation. Unfortunately she was unaware that she was wearing a key piece of evidence. A small piece of red foil was stuck to her beard. Those candies have been on the table since the first of this month and she hasn't seemed interested in them at all. I'll never figure her out. She can be a real toot. She can also be very sweet, especially when she's sleeping.

Weekend Update!

Old

New

Sorry I didn't blog this past week. I guess I've been busy. Not much new going on here. Steffi commented a couple of weeks ago, inquiring about the new mirror. Here it is. She was with me I bought it over a month ago. I've had my eye on it at Hobby Lobby for a while now. This one has a small crack that I bet you can't even see, so I was able to talk the manager into taking 60% off - Snaps for Betsy! **** I think It looks nice. I hung the old one in me bedroom.
I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day. I hear Dad deserves some Snaps as well - Snaps for Rick.***** He got my mom a Journey Necklace - all on his own - with no prompting what so ever. Impressive. However, this now means that the gig is up - we know you have the skill, I will no longer have to do your Christmas shopping - awesome!
I attended a Sunday School class party last night. It was fun, we ate, visited and played a mean game of Phase 10. I hope everyone else had a great weekend.

Scrapbooking Day!

New Scrapbook!

Zoe's scratch.

Today Christa, Cheryl and I had our first official scrapbooking day. Our plan is to get together the first Saturday of every month for scrapbook or whatever else comes up. We started the day off with Lunch at Fudruckers, Yum. Next we headed over to Hobby Lobby to stock up and supplies. We found lots of cute papers and stickers, unfortunately, none of it was on sale, bummer. I did by a really nice new scrapbook. I've always made small/event scrapbooks in the past, but now I've decided to branch out and start a big book. It's a little scary, but I think I can do it. This months scrapbooking extravaganza was great. I felt the day was very productive. Christa and Cheryl have a Cricut. If you don't know what that is, it is basically an electric Die-Cut machine. It's fabulous, I'm totally jealous. Thanks girls for sharing! Here are a few pics.

Today I made a few Zoe pages. As many of you know, when I started graduate school a couple of years ago, I enrolled Zoe in a Doggie daycare. I work all day and knowing I would be in class until 10pm, it seemed like a good solution. The name of the Daycare is Kinder Kritter. A very sweet and caring woman named Cherry owns it. Zoe loves going, she goes two to three days a week. She has made many new friend. When I pick her up she receives a report card and a photo for the day. You will see some of these on my scrapbook pages.
Last week there was a little scuffle on the playground and Zoe was scratched. She put on quite the dramatic show for me when I picked her up that day, but I think she's going to pull through.
More on the adventures of Zoe and daycare later.

I'll go to Church tomorrow, our interim pastor is finishing a really good series. Then back to work Monday. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Red Alert!

I love being a redhead. There is something special about being a redhead. You get called on more in school. You are basically allergic to the sun. As a child, people always pay attention to you. If there happens to be another redhead with you, people often assume you are related. They say we make up less than 3% of the Human race. Some people think you are more likely to be famous, it hasn't worked for me but here are some of my favorite redheads:

Orphan Annie
Pippi Longstocking
Laura Ingalls Wilder
Anne of Green Gables
Wilma Flinstone and Pebbles too
Daphne - Scooby doo
Strawberry Shortcake
Lucille Ball
Maureen O Hara
Molly Ringwald
Ron Howard
Reba McEntire
Carol Burnett
Fergie - The Duchess of York
Annie Potts

And of course my all time favorite redheads are Rick Erwin, Pat Erwin Duke, Mike A. Erwin, Jean Erwin and both my late grandfathers, Mike Erwin and Red McGee. Also Dana Hornkohl, although not related, I have lost track of the number of times I have been asked, "Is that your brother?" No - all redheads are not related.

If you count up all the Erwins and McGees of my generation, there are 12 of us, and I am holding strong as the only redhead.

Who are your favorite redheads?

My Aunt Beth has given me a redheaded angel figurine for Christmas the past few years. Here are a few of my favorites. Thanks Aunt Beth for thinking of me. (See what I mean, people think you are special. She doesn't give the other nieces blonde or brunette angels - just me - I'm special.)

Banners!

Dream Banner

Another Scrapbook paper project - I made these dresses using a quilt square pattern.

Beau Banner

Valentine Banner

This weekend I headed over to Hobby Lobby to take advantage of the 6 for $1 scrapbook paper sale. Unfortunately, I got their a little late. Most of the really cute vintage style papers were gone but I managed to get some cute stuff anyway. I was inspired by a posting on one of my favorite blogs Cherry Hill Cottage (there is a link in my blog list) to make some banners. I made a Valentine banner for the living room and I made a banner for Beau too.

I was able to find some pretty paper in the colors of my bedroom so I made one last banner to hang over my bed. I think it turned out well. Again, I know my home is extremely girly - but what can I say, I'm a girl, I live here, it is what it is.

Saturday night I headed over to Amy Jane's for my very first Wii party. Wii rocks. Guitar Hero is harder than it looks, and Dancing with the Stars has very little to do with dancing. Wii Fit , Ski jump is my favorite. It was great party. Thanks Amy. If you email me some pics I'll post them.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.
