Back to School!

I've already been back at work for over a week now.  So far things are going great.  I really like my new principal and ast.principal.  The atmosphere is so much better then in my  old district.  The people in the school and in the community have been so friendly and welcoming.  I was able to meet some of the teachers this past Friday at our staff retreat.  We went out to dinner afterwards and had a great time.  The campus staff really does feel like a little family.

Here's a look at my office.  I've included some before and after pics.  Keep in mind that we are getting a brand new building next year, so everything will be new and fresh.  I must say that it makes me a little sad to see the 1939 building torn down.  It may be old, but it's full and charm and character.

After:
I made the crayon wreath for my door. Steffi made the curtains - I helped.  Mom and dad helped move boxes and furniture.  I found an old book shelf that was being discarded by one of the teachers and painted it a cool shade of green.  I think it looks good under my Baylor Bear!

GO BEARS!

This is the only bulletin board I am responsible for.  It's on the main hall across from my office.

The hallways still look a little cluttered, but we have a week to work on that before the students come.

Here is a little sneak peek of how things are turning out at home.  Now that I have the office settled, I'll finish the last minute details at home and post pics soon.

I've visited two churches so far. I still have several more that I want to check out.  East Texas is finally starting to feel a little more like home.

But I still miss Dallas - and my peeps:(

Mom said she can totally relate to your office issues. Her office at her first assistant principal was smaller than what you've got and was previously a closet. Ha! The curtains at home looks great!
