Zoe!

I just wanted to share this cure wall hanging of Zoe.  Christa made it for my Birthday.  She's so talented.  I love it. 

By the way, Zoe is doing well.  She has good days and bad days - but mostly good I think.  She has to have 2 shots of insulin a day.  She's lost almost 7 pounds now. 

Thank you Mom and Dad for caring for my diabetic dog.  I really appreciate it - and Zoe does too.

Home Tour Continued.

I don't really know why it took me 3 months to get everything unpacked and in place, but it's finally done - so here it is. 


Ok - for some reason, Blogger will not let me add all the pictures I need to so I may have to  do this in two post. 


Here is the hallway from the dining room.  When Christa came to visit, she helped me hang some art work in the hallway.

So now you should start counting the doors into the bathroom.  This is door #1 - from my bedroom.

Here is my old screen door.  I got it at a thrift store for $20 over 10 years ago.  I've used it in every apartment I've lived in.  I originally intended to use it as a headboard - but that never happened.  I've used it here to separate my room and the bonus room.

My new place is really considered a one bedroom.  It does, however, have a bonus room.  It's not a bedroom because you can't access it from the hallway.  You can only enter this room from my bedroom or the bathroom.  I use it as an office/guest/craft & sewing/exercise room. 

So this is looking into the closet in the bonus room.  I've always hung random posters inside of my closets.  That door with Scarlet on it - is bathroom door #2.  The curtain hides the storage area of the closet.  Curtain by Steffi.

Home Tour Continued

Here is the bathroom.

Door #3 into the bathroom is from the hallway.  That's right - the smallest room in the house  has 3 doors. 

The Laundry area is in the back of the hallway near the back door. Again, curtain by Steffi.

There's no place like home.

I'm finally getting some pictures up as promised.  I posted pics of the apartment before I moved in.  You can see them HERE. 

It's taken some time but I finally have everything unpacked and in place.  I'm really enjoying this neighborhood.  I love the mature trees and brick streets.  I feel very lucky to have found a place to rent with such charm.  I know it makes sense to buy a house soon, but moving is so much work.  I think I'll just be happy here a while.

Holiday Weekend Update - Late!

First, here is a photo of the beautiful flowers Amy sent me for my Birthday.  I said I would post a pic, and never got around to it. 

This past weekend was nice.  I really needed the extra day off.  I didn't do anything really exciting, but I did sleep late, see a movie and visit with family. 


Friday night - I watched the Baylor Bears beat TCU.  It was a great game.  I'll be honest in saying that I haven't always been a big sports fan.  But in the past couple of years I have learned to enjoy watching Baylor Football and Basketball on TV.  I'm not big on going to Football games in person.  I have a pretty good reason for this, but that's another blog post.  However, I think I've worked through my issues, and might be up to making a game this season.  We'll see.  Besides the game, Waco is a pretty fun weekend trip. There's good shopping on Austin Street, The Dr. Pepper Museum and I kind of need to stock up on some new Baylor stuff (T- Shirts, Car Decal, etc.) - I'm sure Beau would love to visit the Bear Pit and see the Bears.  I'll have to teach how to Sic'em.

I saw the movie, Seven Days in Utopia.  It was a great movie with a good message.  It was a very clean family movie - refreshing in this day and age.  As a Bonus, it stars Robert Duvall.  I have been a fan of his work for years.  The Apostle is one of my favorite movies.  It also has a great message.  I highly recommend both movies. 

 I also met up with Steffi, Tad and Beau.  We went on to  rendezvous with the Rents where they took Beau home for the week.  I know they are having a blast.

Random news:  I bought a new car last month. I don't think I ever posted about it.  I got a 2011 Hyundai, Santa Fe - Limited in Espresso.  I call her Coco because she's Chic - and brown.

Blog Update!

It's Labor Day!  Time for a little R&R.

I've been needing to update the blog for a while now, but I just never got around to it.  I decided to add a little Fall Decor- Wishful thinking, I guess.  I also updated my blog list and email link.  It's a holiday weekend and I'm staying in Tyler to catch up on rest and stuff around the house.  Maybe I'll get the home office unpacked.  It's the only room I haven't gotten settled since the move. If I finish getting everything in place, I'll finally post the promised pictures of the apartment.  Sorry it's taking me so long.

Birthday Girl!

Thanks for all the kind birthday wishes on Facebook.  I had a great visit with my family in Tyler.  We went to dinner at The Diner then celebrated with Ganache cupcakes.  The family surprised me with a Pandora Bracelet and a Bee charm.  Beau calls me Honey-B, so I love collecting bees.
